Smack Smack

Friday has made its arrival I couldn't be more excited. Josh and I are going to a friends house tonight to eat and hang out. I am still trying to catch up on my sleep...Help?Mati was quite restless this past week and thats why I just haven't had the energy to blog....well that and I am still reading the Twilight series. I am halfway done with the 3rd one and I have only had them about 10 days! Back to Mati. She is in a great mood today. After a rough week....she deserves it. Josh recorded her jumping in her jumper this week....Its so funny..she looks like she is going to jump out of it and just jump around. She is smacking so loud now. When she takes a bottle or is eating her baby food she is smack smack smackin.

Last night I finally went to see Twilight and hmmm I think I enjoyed it so much because I have read the book so I had a different appreciation for the film. Of course they left out some of the best parts, but I didn't feel like I missed anything. It was a low budget mainly because the books hadnt gotten all the publicity yet so.....but Edward was HOT! I can't wait to see new moon I just hope they switch out some of the characters...I mean Jacob....was yuck!!!! Not what I pictured, but ohh well.
We are READY for the weekend!!!!!!!!

Happy Tuesday!

I am so glad today is Tuesday! Only 3 more days until Friday! lol....I think I started counting down yesterday. Nothing too paticular is going on in the Kozel house this weekend, I am just already ready for some relaxing with my 2 favorite people. I am missing my sweetie today. She was in such a good mood this morning to have such an off night last night. She is having a hard time cutting her teeth poor thing. You can feel so many teeth right under her gums. It is no question that after the first two pop through she will have a mouth full quick, I just hate that her mouth is hurting her.

Last night Josh and I were on a tight schedule. We had dinner ....washed dishes....headed to the tanning bed...home for Mati's bath and put her in PJ's ...then we headed to my mom's to work out. Back home to shower ...do some laundry and crash!!! We like watching Medium on Mondays so I had no book time last night. I had our night scheduled to be home by 8 but that didn't happen. I usually leave my office by 4 so....430 really changes things. Tuesday Tuesday....I am soo stoked to watch the biggest loser. I am sure we will be at my mom's while it is on. It is kind of "our" show. Other than that I am addicted to the Twilight series. I am sure you are tired of hearing it, but I never thought I could get so into a book with as little time as I have.

Inventory this week at work. How fun I know! We have small group meeting in our home on Wednesday night. We are going to have a good number with quite a few kido's. Apparently I need to start working on some more toys. Anyways there isn't much new happening thank God. We are just soaking up this amazing crazy thing called life.

"Hey"

It's Monday.....funday!!! lol My little girl was six months old on Saturday! Time flies when you are having fun. She is saying "hey".....I dont think she knows what it means but she does direct the hey to Josh or myself. She doesn't call her toy hey so she knows how to use it! I don't know why she would need to, she talks with her eyes. You can easily tell what she wants..when she is tired...and who she wants... Other than hey she is in constant jibber jabber, lol. I am going to have to post a video of her in her jumper. She jumps so much so fast. It's hilarious to watch. She gets so excited! Mati is going forward and backwards in her walker, no crawling yet. She just doesn't care to be on her tummy at all. Now that she knows how to sit up....that's all she cares to do on the floor. Monday's are so hard to leave her. Especially when I have had a 3 day weekend with her. She is such a sweetheart.

I finished Twilight this weekend and wow...I am so in love with Edward... I have never wasted a weekend on a book, but it was so worth it. I let my house go and just relaxed with my book in hand. I found myself on my bathroom floor reading while my 2 loves slept. What a great read! My hubby got a little jealous but he will deal with it I am sure! So now I am on to "New Moon".

Well last week I blogged abut my nephew's party. Josh and myself were the only other adults there so we decided to skate. Anyone that knows Josh knows how competitive he is....even with his wife. So we were racing... a good song came on so I thought I would do a little dance...as I am looping the circle....I busted my butt. I hit so hard I bounced...my knee is blue and it hurts to sit...no fun. If it was going to happen, it's going to happen to me. Yesterday went to church and I can't wait to get Mati's dress for Easter. I looked at various daycares with Josh on Friday. The one that set the bar was 1079 a month!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know...how ridiculous...no fun though..all learning....It was so quiet, The brochure said meals were complementary.....well something better be! I have a new found appreciation for free daycare! lol..I love you mom and Susan! Off to work I go! Everyone have a Happy Monday.... ;)

Recent Photos...

Sorry it has taken so long to get these up, but here are some of her pics we took on "Love Day"...let us know what you think!

Must Love Feet!

Well I was busy yesterday and didn't get to post anything, but I noticed I forgot to talk about Mati's love of her feet. She started to grab them about 2 weeks ago, but has really gotten into holding holding holding since the weekend. When you change her diaper she is so excited to help!!lol...She loves her feet. Yesterday she started scooting backwards in her walker....I am so excited, she knew what she was doing. Apparently she was backing up to watch the tv. My little genius..Just like her mommy jk.
There isn't to much going on in the Kozel household. My nephew turned 12 this week so we are going to his skating party on Friday night....what a wild night that will be....partying it up with some pre teens....lol...other than that we are just soaking up life. I have decided I am going to make some time to read the "Twilight" series...Kinzie is going to hook me up so I can fall in love with a 17 year old Vampire too. I love to read so I am pretty stoked! I am also working on achieving my goal this summer for loving my body! I haven't bought myself a swimsuit since I was 18 and I would love to really feel good about myself and just rock a bikini for my hubby! I have a busy work day ahead of me so I better get busy!

My Sweet Little Valentine!

Well Madelyne is getting so so big. It's so amazing to watch them change, learn, and grow. She has 2 new cries now.....she has one where she scrunches her nose..pokes our her lips and breathes really heavy...her other one is during a cry session she will screech her voice and go back to her normal cry. I am just glad to no longer hear the newborn cry, although it was a lot softer than what we are getting now. She loves to play sitting on the ground and her little jumper is an awesome tool to keep her occupied. She has now started to jump jump in her jumper. I will stand in front of her and jump and tell her to "jump jump...jump around".....wonder where I got those lyrics, lol....not to mention her new love for dancing....We stand her up in our laps and take her arms and make her dance and she loves it! She is constantly grabbing our faces so I have now started telling her what she is grabbing....nose...cheeks....lips.....eyes...ouch....It's not fun, but she likes it so we play! Well Saturday she looked ohh so cute dressed for Valentines...yes she wore her outfit 2 days in a row..I washed it Saturday morning....She didn't wake up that way. I know I have mentioned previously that she was about to cut her tooth and Saturday we noticed a red dot on her gum....we assumed that this was the cause of all the yelling and constant hand in mouth so we gave her some tylenol...she seemed ok and the tooth is still making its way up...Saturday we did a fun photo shoot in her room with our fake petals....I am getting professional shots done next month for her 6 month.. but I had to take a few shots and it was well worth it...she gave us one really good shot!!! Sunday she went to church with daddy while mommy tried to feel better at home. We hung out in bed pretty much all day once they got home. We napped and played for an hour and a half and napped again. I have started to fake cry when she is whiny....it puts her in a better mood to watch me!! I love love love being a mommy!

A Great Valentine's Weekend

Well after an amazing "Love" day....we are back at work...sick... uhh.... If Josh didn't have monthly close and I didn't have a busy order day..we would have both called in I think. I don't want that to damper this post though. We had an amazing weekend. It was our best Valentine's Day since we have been together. After 3 years of Josh putting himself into pretty deep holes, he redeemed himself ....We have done the outrageous pricey day ....and at the end of it ....it was still lacking. I think Saturday was the cheapest we have ever gone, and it was the most romantic day we have had in long time.

Our day kinda kicked off on Friday night, I dressed Mati in her love outfit and off we went to Gringo's...We had our usual, but I have to say the meal wasn't very intimate....We spent the ENTIRE meal catching up with an old friend. I am talking entire meal...from the queso to the check he was at our table.....I told Josh when we left I didn't think we even said a word to each other. It was nice to catch up though. Next we dropped Mati off with the Kozel's and headed to a church function!! It lasted a little later than we thought although we had a great time. I wanted Josh to sleep in on Saturday morning but as I was sneaking out the door to get some cute valentine post-its I made.....Baxter got out of the front door!!! I had to wake Josh up so he could watch Mati so I could go chase our little devil down... Once me and satan got home....just kidding...I made Josh his "love breakfast".....red, or should I say hot pink, heart pancakes and some red scrambled eggs....with a chocolate covered strawberry to accent his plate. He loved it and it was a really cute idea....when he woke up I had a note next to the bed that said "I couldn't wait to say I love you".......his hershey kisses on the ground that said " I kiss the ground you walk on"...and his love door......I took like 50 heart post it's and wrote reasons why I loved him....put them on the door so they would remind him every time he went into our bedroom...
We had our hearty breakfast and just kind of lounged for a bit. I got up and cleaned house and we went to the grocery store.....picked up some lunch on the way home and just kinda hung out. Josh rented the "Nights of Rodanthe" and ordered us a heart shaped pizza and some danishes to complete our "night in" theme.....I loved it...This year we decided not to do cards but to write love letters to each other. So we bought two leather note books and decided to trade them every year and write romantic letters back to each other......How romantic, right?....Mati had a little photo shoot that night before bed and Josh got to give me his surprise after she went to sleepy town.....He made the most beautiful bath...candles....rose petals....all complete...I have to say it was one of the most romantic nights of my life.....Good Job honey......uhh huhmmm...Our 2 year anniversary is next month so, I am sure you will do a great job....

Anyways.. Josh participated fully in Valentine's day and was sick as a dog.....he has been sick since Valentines day and I got sick yesterday....Mati hasn't caught it yet and I am hoping she doesn't!!!!! I hope everyone had a great day, and I am sure I will blog after lunch to catch you up on little Miss Mati!!!!

Beautiful Day!!!

I am super suprised I actually have down time on a day like today. For those of you who don't know I am an inside sales rep for a meat company. We are very high end and sell to white table cloth restaurants downtown. Valentines is a great and busy week since all the love birds will flock to fancy places on love day!
Josh and I hosted Breaking Bread in our home last night. We had a great time getting to know one of the new couples from our church. They are such sweet people. I was a little hesitant about hosting something in our house on a weeknight because anyone that knows me....knows I have a touch of OCD when it comes to my house and I obsess over the smallest things. Poor Josh. Everything looked great and went great!
Valentine's is in 2 whole days!!! We are starting it on Friday night though. I don't like the Valentine crowd so we are doing dinner tomorrow night instead. I can't wait to dress Mati. Saturday is going to be a fun for Josh and I.
Mati is doing ok with this teething thing. She has been kinda cranky and you can't tell her mouth is hurting her. I just hope it will come thru and be over with. She develops more personality everyday. The time is flying by, and she will be 6 months next week. Its so hard to believe. I am so excited to see all the first the next 6 months has in store for us...
Happy Valentine's to all!!!! Go give someone some lovin.. ;)

Running Around!

Well it's Wednesday...which to me is more like Thursday. I have Friday off which I am very excited about. Josh only works until lunch on Fridays so hello....QT time! Tonight we have Breaking Bread in our house...fun fun...and tomorrow is Grey's!!! It has been a really good week, and I can't wait for this weekend. I have never put this much thought in Valentine's Day before. Sadly I have always went with the mold that love day is all about the girl and not the guy and blah blah blah......Seriously....why? My hubby is a great man and does more than is expected..shouldn't he get to have some fun on love day...I have some pretty corny stuff planned. I know he will get a kick out of it. I agree with Laura on the flowers and chocolate.....its a nice gesture ...but a WASTE of money. Flowers will die and I am trying to look the other way when it comes to chocolate. Mati is going to look so cute in her Valentine's outfit. She suprises me everyday with how much she wants to interact with us. I was talking to Josh on his way home, as I was making dinner Mati was on the counter in her Bumbo seat. I put Josh on speaker phone and let him say hello. She kept reaching for the phone with both hands, no mam. I have started telling her NO when she whines or you can tell she isn't happy. She just kinda stares back. She loves loves loves to be tickled. She got so tickled last night at Josh's parents house. I love to hear her laugh. It is probably the best sound I have ever heard! Anyways.. I am going to be out of the office most of the day with my boss, I just wanted to put a quick update for Jody!!!! There you go missy!

~Fireproof~

Yesterday was your typical Monday. I am glad its over. My sweet little baby is cutting her bottom teeth this week. She hasn't been in the best mood and it has totally thrown her whole body off. My mom said she thinks it should be through the skin by the end of the day and we are hoping for the best. It has been so much easier with Mati sitting up on her own. I can give her a bath and dress her and just put her on the floor with her toys, and she is perfectly content. She will just sit there. I read yesterday that sitting up will teach her to crawl. She will lean forward on her hands and push herself back upright. Apparently that is how they start learning how to crawl. I am definately a "google" mom....I don't know where I would be without google. Being a new mom I have so many questions and so many "freak out" moments, but I am learning to relax. That is a great feeling. Mati is also loving touching faces along with everything else. I just think it is so sweet to see her reach out while I am talking to her.

Love day is quickly approaching and I can't wait. I am super happy that it is on a Saturday and I get to spend the whole day with my love. We split the day up and I will plan the morning half and the hubbs will plan the second. I will spare you the details, but I can tell its going to be an awesome day!

Last night Josh and I stepped out of our norm and actually had a movie night. You know where you snuggle on the couch with a blanket and just enjoy each others company....one of those! It was so nice. Josh and I both listen to 89.3 a lot now and I have been hearing raves about the movie, "Fireproof" so I decided to check it out. It was obviously a low budget movie, but the message was actually very moving. The story line was about a couple who was trying to save their marriage without God's help! At first they were getting no where....but after 40 days they were back in love. His dad gives him a book called a "love dare" and it is 40 days of doing different things for your spouse, or looking at your spouse in a different way. I learned so much. You hear all the time about couples divorcing and they always say they were following their heart. I was quite shocked to learn that in the book of Job it talks about how your heart can be deceived and we have to ask God for guidance, so he can reveal the truth. I never thought I could learn so much from a film...it was pretty neat. Marriage isn't fireproof, and the fires of life will come, but you have to make sure that you can still stand after the fire.

Play Time!

Today is Monday and I am really missing my little girl! This past week has been a huge change. Madelyne has gone from just kind of moving toys around to actually playing with them. She stays tranced for a lot longer than before and wants to touch everything! She reaches for everything. This morning when I dropped her off at my mom's I took her out of her car seat and went to put it up. I was still holding her do she grabbed the handle with me....I guess she wanted to help mommy! She woke up giggling this morning as if someone was tickling her. She is such a happy baby. She has also been saying "ga ga" or "ka ka"....My oldest sister called my mom Deb so I am hoping Mati isn't practicing calling me Katie and it was just a coincidence that she wanted her mobile on this morning and was looking at me then the mobile saying "ka ka"....

Josh and I always give Mati a bath with one of us in the bath with her. Silly to some I know, but we love to play with her in the water and she enjoys it as well. Saturday night we had friends over so we couldn't do our usual routine. I decided to use her big girl bath tub and that turned out to be more trouble than it was worth. I should have just said I'll be back in 20. I forgot to plug the bathtub and I couldn't figure out why it was running out and filling the actual bathtub in turn making her bathtub float. Then she would slide down.....NOT fun for mommy thats for sure. Anyways...my big girl is sitting up all by herself. She will sit in the floor and just play and play with her toys. She is so content. Its amazing the things they can conquor in a weeks time. Josh and I both agree that it just gets easier every month. We were also discussing how much easier it will be when we have out next baby. That will be no time soon, but I am looking forward to us having another blessing!

Ok so I must get so work! Hope you enjoyed the pictures of my little strong girl!

Teething...

So our crazy weekend is over. Josh and I stayed up until 1 am on Friday to make sure the house was decorated and clean...Saturday we were up and moving....we had to drop the ballons off at Kroger and head to a 1 year old Birthday bash...pick up cake...head to pick up ballons and go home. I had to make sure the house was clean and organized and guest started to arrive. We had a great time...Once the shower was over we went to dinner with great friends and stayed up until after our bedtime again! Church yesterday morning and a relaxing afternoon.
Madelyne has been going to sleep everynight in her bassenette in our bedroom. I know I won't get much use out of it now but we are letting her put herself to sleep now. She is doing really well with the transition. This teething nonsense is no fun. She has been a little cranky and her bottom teeth are on the brink of cutting through. The skin is so thin you can feel them. From the time she wakes up...her hands are in her mouth. She is such a sweet baby. Yesterday in the church nursery there was a 6 1/2 month old playing on the floor with Mati. She just stared. The little girl was so hyper and wanted to play with all Mati's toys...so she just watched her in amazement. It was very cute to watch. Last night she sat up for a little while all by herself...I took pictures that I will post later tonight. Things are just changing so fast around my house.
Unfortunately Josh's grandfather passed away last Friday..so we are headed to Ft. Worth this week. We will be back home Wednesday night so keep us in your prayers!
