Taking a much needed break~

Wow...what a crazy week/ weekend, and what amazing weather. I love the rain as much as I love the sun!!! If its the the weekend and I can stay indoors. :) Anyways... Well last Friday I took off so I could use my last vacation day before my vacation rolled over. We had a great day... Josh also took off. It's kinda rare that we have a 3 day weekend all together. Josh made us breakfast and we started scrambling to get Mati to her appointment for pictures. BTW I love JCPennys... one word or two? no idea...anyways..Mati did excellent. It only took about 20 minutes to get those amazing shots. Not to mention the killer deal we got. We paid 3.99 a sheet. hello??? We spent about 35 bucks compared to almost 300 with the Picture People. SO.... we will go there more often. To get the 3.99 you have to print off a coupon online, it is well worth it. So after her photo shoot we headed to get some grub. Spring Creek B.B.Q. in Pearland is awesome. We had a great time. We picked up a movie and headed home. Movie time at 2:00 in the afternoon has become one of our new weekend deals...I love it. Unfortunately I had to go work a Grand Food and Wine event in Sugarland....the weather was a nightmare....I had a blast at the event and came home to a spotless house. Did I mention I have an amazing hubby?

So I have lost a little bit more weight and I am in a weight bracket i haven't been in 4 years!!!! go me...go me....sorry I had to toot my own horn a bit! 9 more lbs to go!


Saturday was also a nice day...got up late...relaxed...we rode our bike's and took Mati to the park for a swing. She loves it and it breaks up the bike ride. Let me include I also fell off my bike...lol...in Randall's parking lot. Once your clicked in..your not getting out...I got a nice bump on my schen and a bruise on my other leg. After we straightened up our mess we got dressed and we went and saw Josh's old buddies from highschool. They were boiling crawfish and wanted to meet Miss Mati. I think it did daddy good getting to see some guy friends...lol...After that we picked another movie and headed home to veg the rest of the night. Came up with a Sunday school lesson and crashed.



Sunday...we got up.... taught Sunday school...and headed home.. Mati seemed a little fussy so I let her stay with her Grandma while we rode 13 miles on our bikes....btw it was amazing...lol...That night she seemed a little more fussy and had a low grade temp. We stayed home from church that night and veg'd...yes I know we have to stop doing this...lol...



Monday...Mati woke up with horrble stuff coming out of her eyes and her nose was draining so I knew she had to go to the DR. I couldn't put her down to get ready and she decided to wake up at 6 so....no shower for mommy and nice prickly legs....ahhhh.... I took her to work with me hoping for an early appoinment. The office is right across the street. Turns out I must have been hoping for a miracle. They couldn't get her in until 11:15....so Mati spent half the day in mommy's office. I managed to get all my morning stuff done and then some so thank God for that. After leaving to Dr. we find out Mati has 2 ear infections, pink eye, and a bad sinus infection. Thankfully she gave me drops and some antibiotics.....Day 2 and she is 80 % better. She will be going back to daycare tomorrow. This kid just can't catch a break.

Tuesday is going smooth. I am excelling in the office today I must say and Josh and I are dabbling in the idea to go on the 13 mile ride tonight...maybe ....Until tomorrow...I have a crap load of stuff to get done....Adios!

Mati's 8 Month Portraits

It's about that time...

Well I don't have much time to blog so I thought I would do a quick one. Last night we rode our bikes and tanned...day 2 back on track. It feels great! Busy at work today..Mati was trying to say mama this morning..,When I went home for lunch she was also trying to put her binky in my mouth. Silly girl. Happy 8 month Birthday to Mati...yesterday...lol...Tomorrow is our Friday soo, yeah......Oh BTW I know I am slacking on the pictures...They will be up tonight I promise!

P.S. A blog I reccomend....www.mattlogelin.com. It will make your heart melt. Have a box of tissues handy. He was featured on Oprah last week. His wife died from a blood clot 27 hours after giving birth to their Madeline..early! I have started at the begining and I am overwhelmed by his story...its amazing..he has a potty mouth, but if I lost the love of my life I might have some words to share also. Please let me know what you think about it~

Getting it back together

Well after a rather long week/weekend Josh and myself are getting things back together. Yesterday I actually went and tanned before going to pick little miss priss up. I always go get her and wait until later in the night and I am gone for an hour after the drive there...tanning..the drive back...It was so nice to go right after work. It's less than 2 minutes from my office so..lets just say I felt a ton better when I left. I picked up Mati and headed home to start dinner. After dinner we finally got on our bikes again...whew! We only rode 6 miles, but we were exhausted. Josh tried to get me to ride our usual 12 but we haven't been on our bikes in about 3 weeks so there was no way.

We have started giving Mati a bath in her bath tub. Its amazing. We use to always give her a bath with one of us in the bath tub with her, but lately we have been enjoying just giving her a bath by herself. I tried putting her in the bathtub solo....her butt slid everywhere. I don't think there is anything more slippery than a wet baby. It was more work than I wanted so I finally got her tub out we have had and I should have started putting her in that months ago. There is a spot that is foam and she seems like she is stuck to it, so now we are able to bath her alone. It's kinda small, but she wants all her toys in it, therefore she is packed in there with bubbles and toys. Its too cute. I will post some pics tonight.

The working out thing was put on the back burner with Mati being sick...but I didn't go backwards on the weight. I am excited about that. After our ride last night I felt amazing..Josh took some pics of me in my riding clothes and I didn't look at bad as I thought. I wear the spandex so I call myself big booty judy....lol..he hates it!! He is always trying to convince me that I must be blind....ohh well....

Manic Monday

Well..I am sure as you can read above it has been an absolute Manic Monday! Saturday we were at our office until 5...yeah longer than my regular work day...on a Saturday. uhhh! I took of this Friday, but I have an event to work that night...soo...I think I going to just go for a couple of hours.

So I think every where in Pearland flooded on Saturday. I was soaked numerous times from running in and our of the weather all day so...I had a much needed shower when I got home. Josh and I didn't go out on our much needed date, I am starting to wonder if that will ever happen again...lol.. So we hung out and watched some tv..ate pizza. I think that is starting to become our weekend thing...pizza's..I didn't eat them the whole time I nursed Mati so...after 7 months of not eating pizza I think I am entitled to some.. ;)

Sunday was the usual..Sunday school...and naps..I have been exhausted with Mati and I think my class noticed...Halfway through the class I noticed I had nothing else left. We managed to make up some stuff and make it through. Josh realized I needed some sleep so..I slept from 1 to 5.....I convinced Josh we needed to stay home from the night service and get our barrings back. I got all Mati's stuff for the week at "A place to grow"...and made sure that Mati was on her schedule for sleepy town. After being sick she had been really thrown off. So my kido is back to sleeping in her bassinet and back to bed at 9. woohoo...We are hoping to move her to her room after next week.

Mati has started crying if you take whatever toy she is playing with. Last night we made Baxter give his toy up for 5 whole minutes so she could have a turn. Today at the daycare I kid kept taking her toys...whatever toy she had she would take it and thrown it...That little brat. It will happen I know...Other than that this week has officially started....ready..start..go...

Saturday Workday

I never blog on Saturday but since I am at work and have nothing to do..I thought I would update. Mati is getting better. Her appetite is better and no more fevers. Thank you God! She still have a very runny nose, but beside that...she is my happy baby again. Yesterday I took off and had a day at home. It started just as early as any day unfortunately...I was kinda hoping to sleep in...Mati had other plans though. After our little morning nap, it seemed as if I had a fire lit under me. I cleaned house.....cleaned carpet...did laundry...I was amazed at how much I got done before lunch. Once Josh got home we went and picked up some Central Texas.. Marley and Me...and headed home. I was able to take a super long shower...and freshen up before the move..i.e. clean pj's...we lounged and watched the movie...which was great! I was suppose to take a nap, but....couldn't fall asleep so I went with Josh and Mati to Walmart to get some groceries.. Then I crashed!

My company is converting our servers today so I had to come in a couple of hours...The weather is gross and I am ready to go home. Nothing like having to be at work at 730 on a Saturday. I don't think we have much going on today...all of my to do's for the weekend are all done and I am just going to focus on relaxing.. We were suppose to go on a date tonight without Mati, butI don't know if that is going to happen. We haven't been anywhere alone since November so.... that would be nice.

Mati fell off my bed this past week, as if we needed something else...I always put her in the middle of my bed with toys if I am working in my room. She has a fascination of pushing things off edges....toys off the church pew...and or edge of mommys bed. She scooted herself right off and landed right on her face. After speaking with a nurse at Texas Childrens....they said she should be ok...and no doubt she was. It was just a very scary moment for us.. Thank God she is ok.

A Place to Grow...went great the only day she went...She loved her teachers and when I went to check on her at lunch she actually went to her teacher from my arms..That is a sure sign for me that they are doing something right.

Things Mati is doing: She scoots herself; She laughs at anything if its funny or not; She can stand all by herself and play with her toys; She has almost accomplished pulling herself up; She takes steps to Josh and myself when we are holding her hands; She is saying ssssss alot....its kinda funny and sounds like "this".... lots of dadadada as well....no mama yet...She can clap and loves money.; She also loves to play with my magazines... She does a great job of entertaining herself, and momma loves that! Everything still goes in the mouth and she is such a happy baby!!!

More Sleep, Please?

Well today is an absolute mad house... Last night was the worst night since Mati has been born. She has always been a great sleeper...always...She doesn't fight her sleep for the most part, and only gets up once for a bottle and straight back to sleep. The past week she has had some congestion and a low grade fever, but the past 2 days it has intensified. Monday, she ran a fever of about 101 during the day and after some tylenol it went away. I picked her up after I got off work and she was my normal happy baby. She laughs at everything. Usually while Josh and I eat dinner Mati sits in her highchair...snacking on a cookie or playin with her toys. We have her close so we can get through dinner ;) After we are done eating I usually sit there and entertain her before she goes to relax with daddy while mommy cleans up. Josh and I make the dumbest faces...she will get so tickled. ok so I said all that to say this....she was normal Monday night...then at about 12 am she woke up and she usually gets up at 330. When I felt her she felt like she was on fire. Her temp was almost 102 and I made Josh call Texas Childrens to talk with a nurse. We were up with her about an hour a half until her temp went down. Then we all went to sleep. She didn't sleep very well so I decided to take her to the Dr. yesterday morning. He told me that Mati had 2 illness's....hmmm one...a common cold intensified by the second illness. I of course can't pronounce what he described but he scared the crap out of me. He told me Mati had canker sores in her throat, and that it was very swollen. She had some spots on her back and chest that he said would bloom and she might have sores come up on her body....SERIOUSLY? I think he might have been off on that one though, the little red spots have went away already so....I think he might have shot from the hip...and missed.. He did tell me that the fever would last on and off the next couple of days and she should be great by the end of the weekend. So last night Mati was so congested she couldn't suck on her binkie to sleep, so she screamed for 2 hours....I finally put her in the car and drove around...after about a mile she was out. I drove a few more to make she was calm so that if she did wake up...she would be calm enough to go back to sleep. I put her in the bed when we got home and she slept until 3..We gave her the usual bottle and of course her temp was up. So after putting cold rags on her she was wide awake and ready to play. It was the same battle trying to get her to go back to sleep...so after Josh tried for 45 minutes.. I stood up and rocked her back and forth...finally asleep.....515 she was up again...I am so glad Josh got her back asleep and let me just lay in bed...Thanks hunny! By the time he left it was time for me to get up....noway....so I slept in....jumped in the shower to shave my legs....skipped washing the hair. I feel a little thrown together but not enough to slow me down atleast my legs are smooth....lol..

Work...today and tomorrow and I am off on Friday....yay!!! I can't wait. Mati is with my mom today so I could come in and catch up... She can't go back to daycare until next week!

I am in a mood for lists though. I have this overwhelming feeling to organize and clean....I always do lists so I can give myself the satisfaction of marking through them when I am done and I love to look at a completed list. It makes me feel so much more together. Crazy right? I know, but I can't help it. So I think I am going to get busy on my lists...

Josh is having trouble with computer connecting to our wireless so....it should be fixed by today. I will load the pics of Mati from Easter weekend.

Happy Easter and "Dada"

I am so glad Easter has come and gone! We had a great weekend. Friday Josh was off so he and Mati had a daddy day. I had a crazy day of running around making deliveries with my boss and dropping our truck off at Penske. After he was dropped off at the airport that afternoon I was able to head home a little early and spend some time with my loves. I went and got an Easter skirt....it was a steal....$114 on sale for $30....hello.....other than that...we just hung out. We had a very lazy night. We watched Slumdog Millionaire which I highly recommend and cooked a pizza.

Saturday was kind of a crazy day. We had Easter at both parents homes and I had to fit a nail appointment in there....make Mati's headband and fix her slip...sleep in would be nice...clean house....the list goes on.

Instead of getting up too early for a Saturday and sitting in a nail salon, I opted for sleeping in and being lazy by staying in my bed watching tv until the second I had to get up to get ready to be at my mom's by 1130.....we were there by noon... ;) We had steaks...and had a great time with family. My mom had an Easter egg hunt in her back yard and Mati found a prize egg. She won 5 dollars... While mommy and daddy placed her in the yard for some good pics...ants made their way up those fatty thighs. I felt so bad when I saw the bites. She never cried. She had about 5 on each leg. After that I made my way to the nail salon while Mati and daddy went and took a nap at home. It felt so good to get pampered.....I felt like a hot mamma..lol... I met Josh and Mati over at the in laws for dinner.....the chicken was amazing... Mati got her some loot...including some really cute sunglasses... We caught up with family and headed to Walmart to get some things to finish up Mati's Easter basket from mommy and daddy. We got home, made Mati's headband, gave her a bath, and crashed.

Sunday was a very nice day..... Other than my house being a wreck we all looked pretty pulled together. Mati looked absolutely beautiful. Her huge slip was quite a hassle, but it made her dress stand out so good. After we went to church we stopped and grabbed some fast food since we would miss the food at Josh's family (Katy) get together. We ate...got home... changed and hit the road. We spent lots of time with his grandparents in Katy. Everyone got to see Mati and ohhh and ahhh at her. She was starting to morph into the bride of chuncky when we decided to head home. She slept half the way home and then some after getting home. I managed to clean the house. Josh washed the cars.....all laundry done, clean sheets.....ahhhh....Mati had been mumbling something all day and we couldn't figure out what she was saying....doy? as the day went on it was more pronounced....as dada....Josh was so excited...he didn't believe me at first. As he listened he conceded that I was correct! She says hey and ohh...but dada is big!!!! lol... Josh told me I better blog about it!

All about Mati: She loved her Easter baskets....Josh's grandmother made her one and Mati just loved it. She would take things out and put them back in the basket. She has the floor with his family. I don't think she knew what to do with so many faces just watching her every move. She is doing circles and constantly falling on he tummy from the sitting up position. She always wants to get down. ....like she can just walk around? She kicks her legs from excitement when I pick her up. She eats baby food 3 times a day and mostly 100 % of the can. She loves her cookies and is still thinking about the cheeto's.... She also has learned how to clap! I love love love my precious baby!

What a week?!?!?!

Well where do I start...I guess with Monday. Last week we got our long awaited call from "A Place to Grow"...and they have spot open from Mati. Thanks to some strings being pulled of course. Thankfully my boss knew the owner so she had Mati's name right on top. ;) We gave Tottenberry's the news and lets just say it didn't go so well. In our contract we must have skimmed over the part that says.....4 WEEK NOTICE! Well obviously I don't want Mati there for 4 more weeks....unfortunately we just kinda had a bad experience and needed to make a change. After dealing with all of that Mati will be starting at A place to grow next week...full time. This place is the shizznit....lol...and I am so glad Mati has the priviledge to go there...average waiting list time is a year. After all of that Mati has had the worst runny nose possible. Its been horrible. She is having a hard time with her bottle and eveything...time for the humidifier....uhh...

Other than that we have had a pretty non eventful week at home. It seems like we have been so busy though. Maybe its just everything that is going on. We are getting ready for Easter. We are going to go get pictures done with little miss priss. She is scooting and turning circles still... My weekend housework....re located itself to week house work. I haven't gotten Mati's headband made. Our driver at work went to El Salvador this week which leaves me or my boss to run deliveries throughout the week. I am glad tomorrow is Friday. Josh is off tomorrow which means I don't have to get anything ready tonight. So....I am going to relax....maybe....I went to a bootcamp on Sunday morning and let me tell ya, until yesterday it hurt to sneeze..cough...laugh....We did like 500 crunches ...150 of those was with a 10lb medicine ball...he also brings rings that he hangs from football goal post. You have to use your upper body stregth to pick yourself up and flip backward and then forward again....they call it "skinning the cat".... My arms ached from that exercise. Apparently they work out in rain or shine...I really enjoyed it!

My cousin found out she is expecting and I am very happy for her. We don't talk as much anymore, but I am glad to hear she is doing great!

I am ready for Easter....ready to feel like its a holiday!

What a week

Monday~

What a day....what a weekend... Josh and I decided to stay home Friday night and do nothing..I am so glad. I moved furniture around an scrubbed some carpet and just hung out with my 2 favorite people ever. Josh and I watched "love story"...its like a 1970 film..It was pretty good..then we crashed. As most of you know Saturday mornings mommy sleeps in but no this Saturday. Josh and I got moving bright and early. We went to Home Depot and bought some flowers and a tree to put in the front yard. Then we went and got a yard of mulch. We worked our tails off...We ended up getting done around 4:30. We were exhausted! We went and had dinner with the soon to be Bennette's and had a great time. Mati would scream at all the tables around us until they noticed her and then she would smile. Everyone got a kick out of it. We caught up with old friends and headed to Hobby Lobby before Mati morphed into the Bride of Chucky....lol.. I found some really awesome possibilities for her Easter headband, and bought them all. Sunday was our usual day of Sunday school and mid day naps... Sundays are so nice.

Rose Colored Glasses~

Well as I am working today I am blasting "Rose Colored Glasses"...I love this song!!! I could 2 step to this song all day...lol....It's a classic ...they just don't make em' like that anymore. I thought I would blog a little bit to take my mind off of work...

Mati is with her grandma today and daddy is still at work....Hopefully the nights and weekends he has been working has him leaving soon. I have become very spoiled to half days on Friday. I am so proud of him. The husband and father that he has become just takes my breathe away. Mati and I are so lucky to have such a catch... ;) He is the whole package...looks and everything! Not to mention Mati is the spitting image of her daddy. Some days it just like looking right at him<3

This weekend I need to run to Hobby Lobby and pick up my stuff for her Easter headband... and we have dinner with friends on Saturday night. I would love to go on a date with my husband. We haven't been out alone since November. I will put that on my to do list....Its amazing how time just passes you by. Since I work I feel super guilty for asking someone to watch her. I fell like I should try and be with her as much as possible. I know that we need time to ourselves too. I don't know..I just want to be with best mother than I can be. My family just consumes my life, and maybe...mommy should take some me time. Today when I was headed to work. I dropped Mati off with my mother in law and I caught a glimpse of myself getting my car. Man did I look rough. My hair looked horrible already and my face is all splotchy from my hormones still going crazy! Not to mention pale....I asked myself "who was that girl?" Not the girl Josh dated thats for sure. So mommy is going to spend some time trying to find me....not necessarily the old me.....but maybe the better improved version of whats been walking around.

Ready for Friday!!!

Today is Thursday....as we all know and I am so ready for tomorrow... Fridays are just awesome for us. Josh works a half day and is home by lunch time so I get to go home and visit with both of my loves while I am on lunch. It's so nice to only live 10 minutes from work!! It's also a slow day for me at work so...I am able to get lots done and know that my little princess is spending quality time with her daddy!!! I have 2 vacation days I have to take by the end of the month so I will be taking off the last 2 Fridays of the month.

Last night Josh had to do some work at home so we skipped church and stayed home. Josh worked a couple hours while Mati and mommy napped and played. She was covered in cookie and needed a bath for damage control. We went to bed right after 9. I was so tired!

Today has been a great day...the weather was horrible and my hair looks like crap from running in the rain....but I am super ahead at work and I just feel great! Its just one of those days...I am really looking forward to the weekend. I am ready for my 12 mile bike ride tonight....tanning, ahhh I am ready! Mati just amazes me more everyday. She has started thinking she can throw fits...hahaha...She actually kicked me and screamed this morning as I was changing her diaper. I had a very strong tone and told her "NO"....She just stared at me like she knew I meant business and started playing with her hands and talking. I had to laugh and so did she...last night she was going crazy scratching my face and I told her no softly and she would laugh back at me so....I thought I needed to take a different approach this morning. All in all we are doing fabulous and couldn't be happier...I am starting to get into this planning her 1st birthday....ohh its going to be fun!
